Why Terpenes

You may be asking yourself why Outlander Extractions is able to provide such high quality, effective CBD oil. Well, the secret is in the terpenes.

Terpenes are secreted by the same glands in hemp that secrete THC and CBD. They promote hemp’s iconic, potent aroma and can be found in most other aromatic plants (such as cinnamon, citrus fruits, lavender, rosemary, etc.).

Since cannabis research began, it has primarily focused on the effects of THC and CBD; with terpenes flying pretty far under the radar. And even now, the research into terpenes is new and ever-evolving.

Here at Outlander though, we understand the beautiful purpose behind terpenes and how to formulate them so that their medicinal properties can be utilized by our customers.

Terpenes have been linked to aiding in the reduction of pain, inflammation, anxiety and depression; antifungal effects; protecting against cancer and heart disease; and working as a powerful epilepsy treatment

The reason terpenes are so valuable is because of something called the entourage effect – where all of the molecules in the hemp plant (CBD, terpenes, THC, etc.) work together to enhance its effects. Thus, without terpenes, the CBD oil is less effective at providing its full medicinal benefits – which, let’s be honest, is the whole reason you’re here.

At Outlander Extractions, we genuinely want to provide you with tools to help you better manage your ailments, no matter their cause. This is why we take care to extract just the right combination of CBD and terpenes from high quality hemp plants, ensuring that each tincture is providing the exact properties we put on the label.
